Undergraduate Program

Following the same structure as YU in New York, all students participate in Jewish studies as part of the curriculum. The YUI Jewish studies program offers an immersive Torah learning environment, with students placed in shiurim and paired with a chabura suited to their background and experience.

Students are welcome to begin YU in Israel following shana bet. Credit is currently awarded for shana alef.

Men and women will study on separate campuses and in separate batei midrash. Each program will offer a rich Jewish studies experience, including classes, shiurim and chabura learning.

Yes. As a YU in Israel student, you will have access to the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development, including individualized career advising, graduate school guidance and professional development resources. You'll also have access to Israel-based networking opportunities and pre-Aliyah advising helping you explore professional and long-term opportunities in Israel.

YU provides student housing in Jerusalem throughout the program. Living in university housing helps foster a strong sense of community, enriches the student's experience and makes it easy to participate fully in campus life and cohort activities.

YU recognizes credit awarded by SDAIP-affiliated yeshivot. Coursework completed at other Israel institutions may also be considered and will be reviewed individually.

Yes, Israeli citizens are welcome to apply and enroll. Additionally, students can make Aliyah during the program.

Because both Sherut Leumi and the YU BBA program involve significant full-time commitments, participating in both simultaneously is generally not feasible.

Program costs include tuition, Torah studies, housing, campus life programming and student support services.

SDA fees will be applied in the same manner as they are for students who return to New York after their year of study in Israel.

At this time, there is no honors program or honors scholarship associated with the program. Need-based financial assistance may be available, and applications are reviewed individually. Students seeking financial aid are encouraged to complete the FAFSA. Students who complete IDF service may also be eligible for additional scholarship opportunities, subject to applicable program guidelines.

Yes, qualified educational expenses for this program may be paid using a 529 savings plan.

Students can work with the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development to prepare for and pursue internship opportunities in Israel, the United States and around the world.

Yes. The academic curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for career opportunities in their chosen field. Throughout the program, students will receive support from both the YU in Israel team and the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development. Students interested in graduate study will also have access to guidance regarding advanced degree opportunities at Yeshiva University and Israeli universities.

The program is designed as a sequential degree pathway, and students are encouraged to follow the curriculum as structured. If a student is interested in transferring to YU in New York or pursuing a different academic path, requests can be reviewed individually. The initial program offering will be the Global Business & Innovation major.

Students who have previously enrolled in another undergraduate institution may be eligible to transfer into the program, depending on their academic background and completed coursework.

• The program is structured as a full degree pathway following two semesters of study at an affiliated Israel seminary or yeshiva, followed by six semesters in residence in Israel. 

• New cohorts generally begin each fall semester, with the inaugural cohort beginning in January. Transfer opportunities may be available for students whose completed coursework closely aligns with the program curriculum. 

• Because the curriculum is designed to build sequentially, students are typically expected to complete courses in the prescribed order. 

• Students may submit transcripts for evaluation to determine whether previously completed coursework can satisfy degree requirements. Approved transfer credits may reduce a student's course load in each semester, though residency requirements would still apply.
