Torah Life on Campus

The program schedule follows YU’s traditional dual curriculum, with morning Torah studies and a beis midrash open 24/7 at the Gruss Institute of YU in Israel.
  • Features a full morning and night seder and will be joined by YU Roshei Yeshiva for an inspirational Elul Zman.
  • Be a part of the Kol Torah in the YU Beis Medrash in Yerushalayim with Rav Dovid Miller, Rav Assaf Bednarsh and Rav Chaim Eisenstein.
  • Talmidim will have the opportunity to learn from Torah giants not only Gemara Be-Iyun, but also experience the unique hashkafa and teachings of our Rebbeim from both sides of the ocean.

How it Works

Students are expected to complete their academic coursework in the following order:

YEAR 1

Use your YU-affiliated Israel yeshiva credits to fulfill your first year

YEAR 2/3

On campus at YU in Israel and either Tel Aviv University or Bar-Ilan University

YEAR 4

Courses and instruction facilitated by YU, along with one summer semester at the YU campuses in New York

Are Jewish studies required for the program?

Can I get Jewish studies credit if I stay for shana bet?

If at any point I want to depart from the sequential program, whether switching to YU in New York, or changing my major, will my credits transfer?

Will men's and women's Jewish studies both be on the YU in Israel campus, and will they be separate?

Upon completion of the degree programs, will I have market-ready career opportunities and/or a pathway to graduate programs in Israel and abroad?

If I spend my post-high school year in Israel in a yeshiva that is not part of S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program (SDAIP), will I still be eligible for YU in Israel? What if my yeshiva is not affiliated with YU?

Can Israeli citizens enroll in this program?

Will I have access to the same career and graduate school guidance that students have at YU in New York?

Do I have to live on the YU Israel campus after my year in a yeshiva? Do I have to live on campus throughout my time in the program?
