Torah Life on Campus

The YU in Israel schedule follows YU’s traditional dual curriculum, with morning Torah studies for both men and women and a beit midrash open 24/7.
  • The men’s learning program and schedule will be led by top Rebbeim and will include chavruta time in the beit midrash followed by shiur, plus options for advanced students.
  • The women’s learning program will be overseen by top Torah personalities, featuring classes in Tanach, Halacha, and Jewish thought, as well as a beit midrash option with chavruta learning.
  • Campus couple Rabbi Josh and Rabbanit Margot Botwinick will oversee a vibrant, student-focused community.

How it Works

Students are expected to complete their academic coursework in the following order:

Use your YU-affiliated Israel yeshiva and seminary credits to fulfill your first year

YEAR 2/3

On campus at YU in Israel and either Tel Aviv University or Bar-Ilan University

YEAR 4

Courses and instruction facilitated by YU, along with one summer semester at the YU campuses in New York

Tuition

$36,000/year

  • All-inclusive of courses from both universities, Torah studies, programming, housing and transportation to/from partner institutions.
  • Yearly tuition remains the same for each year of the program, including during the residency component at the YU campuses in New York

FAQs

Are Jewish studies required for the program?

Can I get Jewish studies credit if I stay for shana bet or shana gimel?

If at any point I want to depart from the sequential program, whether switching to YU in New York, or changing my major, will my credits transfer?

Will men's and women's Jewish studies both be on the YU in Israel campus, and will they be separate?

Upon completion of the degree programs, will I have market ready career opportunities and/or a pathway to graduate programs in Israel and abroad?

If I spend my post-high school year in Israel in a yeshiva or seminary that is not part of S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program (SDAIP), will I still be eligible for YU in Israel? What if my seminary or yeshiva is not affiliated with YU?

Can Israeli citizens enroll in this program?

Will I have access to the same career and graduate school guidance that students have at YU in New York?

Do I have to live on the YU Israel campus after my year in a yeshiva or seminary? Do I have to live on campus throughout my time in the program?
