Essay Prompts
Essay 1 (Choose One, 500–750 words):
- Discuss how your Torah learning informs your broader thinking or engagement with contemporary ideas.
- IDescribe a moment in your Torah learning that deeply influenced your path.
- Describe a time when you stepped into a role of communal or spiritual leadership.
- Choose a Torah text that guides your growth and explain its impact.
Essay 2 (Choose One, 150-300 words):
- What kind of Torah role model do you hope to become and why?
- Describe a challenge in learning or leadership and what you learned from it.
Short Answer Responses (Choose One, 25–75 words)
- novel or short story I have recently read taught me that…
- A moment of joy in my learning occurred when…
- A trait I admire very much in one of my teachers is…
- A Torah learning environment I imagine myself helping to create looks like…
Torah Portfolio Submission
Submit one of the following:
- A chabura source sheet you prepared and delivered.
- A written dvar Torah or shiur outline.
- A brief reflection (200–300 words) on a sefer, commentary or approach you value.
- Video Submission. Submit a 2-minute recorded dvar Torah or teaching moment.
This may be recorded on a phone in horizontal framing. A link to an uploaded video is acceptable.
Letter of Recommendation
- One letter from a Torah educator who can speak to your love of Torah and learning skills.
