Jewish Education

YU Global is expanding access to Jewish education through curated online offerings designed for adult learners.

These programs bring the depth of YU scholarship to new audiences and strengthen engagement with the university’s intellectual and ethical tradition.

Learners served to date: We are in the 2nd cohort, with 35 students in each cohort. But each subject matter expert has also lectured to several hundred members of the London Jewish community during their scholars in residence visits as part of the program.

This work extends YU’s mission beyond traditional degree programs and strengthens its role as a global center of Jewish thought.

Through partnership with the Chief Rabbi of England’s Shalem Fellowship, YU scholarship is reaching new audiences across the United Kingdom, expanding the University’s global intellectual and spiritual presence.

The impact extends beyond the fellows themselves. During scholar-in-residence weekends, YU faculty travel to London to teach, lecture, and engage with hundreds of members of the broader Jewish community. These gatherings bring YU’s academic depth into communal settings, strengthening connections between scholarship and lived Jewish experience.

This initiative reflects a broader vision: extending YU’s intellectual and ethical tradition beyond geographic boundaries while remaining rooted in its core mission. By building international partnerships and fostering global learning communities, YU Global reinforces the University’s role as a center of Jewish thought and leadership — one that is both deeply traditional and dynamically engaged with the contemporary world.
